Dr. Jugenburg studied Molecular Biology and Genetics before being accepted to the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto, where he obtained his medical degree. Dr. Jugenburg then completed his postgraduate Plastic Surgery residency at the University of Manitoba, which is quickly gaining a reputation as one of the world’s premiere microsurgery training programs. Having performed over two thousand Plastic Surgery procedures, the knowledge and surgical skill that Dr. Jugenburg acquired in Winnipeg, resulted in him being selected from a pool of worldwide applicants to train at the internationally renowned Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.
Having trained under some of world’s best microsurgeons, Dr. Jugenburg has the surgical experience and clinical knowledge that allow him to offer the most advanced reconstructive procedures to his patients. Procedures that usually take 10-16 hours can now be performed in 3-5 hours instead.

Humber River Regional Hospital is home to one of the most well-known plastic surgeons in Canada and all of North America, his name is Dr. Martin Jugenburg. He is on staff at the highly-respected Humber River Regional Hospital in Ontario. Dr. Jugenburg is one of the most trusted and respected plastic surgeons in the country and his amazing list of recommendations and recognitions shows why. He graduated from the University of Toronto with an undergraduate degree in Molecular Biology and Molecular Genetics before moving onto a specialization in plastic surgery.
After Dr. Jugenburg was selected as one of twelve students at the University to be accepted into a plastic surgery residency he performed his residency at the famed University of Manitoba in Winnipeg. While at the University of Manitoba under the tutelage of Dr. Edward Buchel in 2003 (who is a world-renowned surgeon in the mocrosurgical reconstruction field), Dr. Jugenburg was a part of turning the University of Manitoba into one of the world’s leading training hospitals for microsurgery. They were also led by two other important doctors, Dr. Hayakawa and Dr. Skoracki.
After Dr. Jugenburg completed his residency at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, he was invited to become a part of the staff at the University of Miami, but he instead decided to move back to Toronto where he joined the staff at Humber River Regional Hospital.
Humber River Regional Hospital is about to be the largest community hospital in all of Canada and a rival to many massive buildings in the United States. It is in the process of moving into a new super-hospital location that is being constructed on the corner of Keele and Wilson in Toronto. When it is completed it will be one of the most advanced hospitals in the country, offering surgical procedures that you will not be able to find anywhere else in the country.
